![]() It's called symmetry, and it's the equilibrium between light and dark, right and left, rough and smooth, rugged and elegant -- it's the point where you'll find this Grooved Center Damascus Ring waiting! Classic: each ring features a dome profile for a refined look that has universal appeal. Intense: the acid finish and rough texture brings out the two-tone shading of the ring and accentuates the mind-bending patterns in the metal. Unconventional: the deep groove running like a black trench down the center of the ring adds an eye-catching highlight -- we love how it breaks up the striations in the metal. Timeless: The Damascus steel construction of each ring takes a tradition that's thousands of years old and updates it for the modern era. You'll never find a more balanced ring, and it's the reason this piece also makes an incredible Damascus wedding band! Please note: The acid finish shown here appears darker in this image. The actual color of this ring may vary slightly, with more of a dark, flat gray against lighter contrasts. Ready to embrace your light and dark sides? We'll have this Grooved Center Damascus Ring custom produced just for you once you've selected a size -- all standard sizes between 4 and 13 are available. Also select a width for your ring between 4mm and 8mm (featured here in the maximum 8mm width). About This Design: Learning how to make Damascus steel is not for the faint of heart. It's not something one casually picks up at a blacksmithing demonstration. It's an ancient process so secretive that the art behind it was lost for centuries and was only recently rediscovered. By way of an overview, it starts with thin sheets of two to six steels stacked in alternating layers of light and dark. The layers are tightly pressed into a billet that is welded, folded, restacked, and hammered to create additional layers. The newly forged billet can be left alone for a rippling effect or twisted and manipulated further to get some of the more interesting cross-markings. The final product is acid etched to showcase the contrasting colors of the steel. Each Damascus Ring at Titanium-Buzz is a labor intensive work of art that will look great for a lifetime!
