About This Design:
What do we mean by "rediscovering" Damascus steel? The original process for creating Damascus steel, itself an ancient art, was lost sometime in the 1700s. While much of this tradition remains shrouded in mystery and legend, techniques developed over the past 50 years have resulted in metals that recreate many of the properties of classical Damascus steel. Using these special time-intensive techniques (at one point we even use a hammering machine that weighs over a 1000 pounds) and our own eye for design, we've been able to create utterly unique designs like the Square Basket Weave Ring featured here!
