About This Design:
There are two very unique aspects to this meteorite ring that has made it the talk of the town among alternative metal jewelry fans. First, the black zirconium metal base of the ring. Black zirconium has very similar properties to the titanium that many of our rings are known for. It's durable and is also pretty lightweight. The difference is the metal in this ring was heated, giving it the distinctive dark black/grey coating you see here. This process took many, many long hours to perfect. The other unique aspect of this men's meteorite ring is, of course, the inlay running along the center. The material of the inlay is an actual piece of the Gibeon meteorite, which broke up high above the surface of the planet sometime during Earth's prehistory. No one is sure when, but natives living in the African village near where the meteorite crashed had been using pieces of it in their tools for generations. What we do know is that the rock itself is over 4-billion-years-old and is one of the most ancient objects on Earth.
